Plymouth Grating Laboratory (PGL) is a small, focused technology company in the Boston/South Shore area that specializes in the development and manufacturing of diffraction gratings for laser applications using thin-film coating, photolithography, chemical processing, and optical metrology. PGL is seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated optical metrology engineer to develop and utilize optical measurements, equipment, and fabrication systems.
Oversee, continuously improve, and develop new optical measurement capabilities
Maintain, update, troubleshoot, repair, improve, and implement new complex optical metrology and fabrication equipment
Computer programming/analysis and equipment interfacing experience is desirable
Ability to communicate professionally and clearly, both orally and in writing
Desire to learn and take on challenging new tasks
Experience and Education:
5+ years of hands-on and theoretical optics experience
Experience in a precision manufacturing environment is highly desired
Education: minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Optics, Physics, or Engineering
