The Department of Physics at Universidad de los Andes is seeking postdoctoral applicants in the field of experimental quantum optics. Specifically to work in experiments related with the interactions of entangled photons and atoms-molecules. This position will complement and extend our existing experimental strength in quantum optics (http://opticacuantica.uniandes.edu.co). Responsibilities include a light teaching load of one course per semester. Position is available in july 2021. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of an extension for one more year.
Applicants are expected to have expertise in one of the following areas: quantum optics, quantum information, nonlinear optics, foundations of quantum mechanics, generation of single photons and light-matter interaction. A doctoral degree and a minimum of three indexed publications are required. Working knowledge of Spanish is desirable but not a requirement.
