The Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August, 2020.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education, and are expected to make significant contributions to the M.S. program in Engineering Physics with a focus on instrumentation and automation.
Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence and are expected to develop an experimental research program that, in addition to involving undergraduate and M.S. students, can attract external funding and develop collaborations within the department.
Candidates with research experience in experimental optics aligned with one of the following research areas are encouraged to apply: (1) Optical engineering; (2) Optics-based Biophysics; (3) Atmospheric remote sensing or in situ measurements for air quality and climate studies; or (4) Automation and Instrumentation Engineering.
