Applicants are invited for research positions at an international joint laboratory directed by Prof. Chunlei Guo. The laboratory has two branches each located in the birthplace of optics in the U.S. and China respectively, i.e. The Institute of Optics, University of Rochester in the U.S. and Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP) in China. The available positions are at the post-doctoral level at the Rochester branch, while at the CIOMP branch, the available positions include long-term faculty/staff and post-doctoral fellows. The two branches interact extensively, and our members have the opportunity to spend time at the other site. At our newly developed CIOMP branch, the research facilities are housed in a state-of-the-art, 3-story/30,000 sq. ft research building, and the laboratory is well-equipped with cutting edge laser and material fabrication and characterization facilities.
Strong backgrounds in lasers, photonics, or materials research are desired. Applicants with backgrounds in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
• femtosecond lasers & ultrafast dynamics
• plasmonics & micro- and nano-photonics
• material sciences and chemistry • photonics & energy devices
• fluid dynamics/ optofluidics
• hydrophilic/hydrophobic properties
• atoms and molecules interacting with laser fields
Additional information on the Lab research is available at: http://www.optics.rochester.edu/workgroups/guo/
The applicants should submit a copy of their CV with a list of publications and potential references to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note which position and which location you wish to apply to (i.e. post-doctoral position at Rochester and/or Changchun; faculty position at Changchun)
PhD in relevant fields required
Post-doc positions are available at University of Rochester AND Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP).
Faculty-level positions are only available at CIOMP.
Please state which position and location you wish to be considered for.
