The Department of Physics at the University of Texas at Arlington <http://www.uta.edu/physics/> is seeking exceptionally qualified candidates for the Richard N. Claytor Distinguished Professor of Optics, an endowed faculty position. A PhD in Physics, Optics or closely related areas is required. The appointment will be at the Professor level with tenure. The individual must have a high level of research accomplishments, extramural funding, professional leadership, and excellence in teaching and mentoring of students.
The successful candidate will be expected to take on a leadership role in coordinating and growing interdisciplinary research and educational programs in optics at UT Arlington. Preference will be given to candidates with a distinguished scholarly record in experimental quantum optics, nonlinear optics, optical materials, photonics, biophotonics, optical sensing, optical imaging, plasmonics, laser or optical physics.
