Strongly seeking Part time Technical Instructors to teach evening and/or weekend classes in various technologies such as:
Fiber Optics (FO) Qualified teachers will instruct in industry standards governing FTTD (Fiber To The Desk), FTTH (Fiber To The Home, LAN/WAN fiber networks, and further introduce students to basic fusion and mechanical splicing. Students will learn how to identify fiber types, recognize various connectors used in fiber installation; and install, terminate, splice, and properly test installed fiber cable to existing standards. You will provide students hands-on training using a Light Source and Power Meter (LSPM) and Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) preparing them for testing and troubleshooting fiber optic network systems. Provide students personalized instruction in operating specialized equipment such as fusion splicers, OLTSs and OTDRs and teach them how to interpret test results.
- Plans, administers and delivers course curriculum for in-residence and/or distance learning environments within allotted timeframe to support student learning objectives - Executes classroom management functions and provides frequent individualized feedback to students - Attends and completes training sessions to bolster knowledge of course curriculum and enhance instructional strategies, skills and abilities - Employs multiple teaching methods and strategies to satisfy diverse adult learning styles - Facilitates all aspects of the eLearning course room, including but not limited to: grading, posting announcements, interacting with students in discussion forums, responding to student questions, etc. - Upholds student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations - Relays confidential information to students regarding funding and enrollment status - Performs administrative tasks such as reporting attendance and preparing test documentation - Provides feedback to course development team for curriculum improvement - Maintains qualifications by obtaining and/or renewing industry certifications - Other duties as assigned
- Ideal candidate holds one or more related industry certifications, such as; ETA, FOI, FOT , FOA, - Teaching experience in technical, vocational and/or post-secondary community college environment preferred. - Experience with distance education is a plus - Prior trainer experience and LMS (Learning Management System) experience preferred. - Proficient in technology (iPad, laptop, digital projector, etc.) - Travel up to 100% of the time
