The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes by providing technical support in the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods per project requirements.
Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…
Designs manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters.
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
Collaborates with facilities, engineering, materials, and production operations to develop and implement manufacturing systems.
Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Create work instructions and coordinate training for facilities, materials, and production personnel.
Confers with production group concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Supports troubleshooting and root cause analysis of product/process related issues.
Coordinates with customers to determine product specifications and design changes and responds to their request.
Coordinate/participate in pFMEA of manufacturing processes.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Validate production floor system routing.
Define process/equipment validation plan and requirements.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…
Bachelor of Science in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years experience in related field.
Minimum 5 years related experience in a technology based industry, where automated assembly techniques are utilized.
Industrial Engineering experience working in high-volume assembly, filling, packaging processes.
Familiarity with automated equipment systems and tools - robotic, vision, material handling, Conveyors, PLC, HMI, Pick-Place-Pack, Inspection/Test (Structural and Non-Contact e.g. Laser), Application of lasers e.g. Etching/Marking, Dispensing processes, plastics welding and joining.
CAD software experience: Solidworks, Pro-Engineer/Creo, AutoCAD or equivalent
Microsoft Office tools.

Experience applying Lean manufacturing concepts to high-volume operations.
Experience with high-volume automation applications in the medical device, food, beverage, or electronics industries.
Experience/knowledge in plastic injection molding operations.
Experience in manufacturing equipment validation.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification and/or Lean certification.
