- Summer Research/Internship
Housing, Travel Reimbursement
The University of Rochester's 10-week Research Experiences for Undergraduates program provides opportunities for undergraduate physics majors to experience research in many areas of physics. Students are granted stipends, university housing, travel to Rochester and assistance with food expenses. Students work closely with faculty and graduate students on a variety of current research projects. The summer program also provides important exposure to many areas of physics research such as astrophysics, condensed matter physics, experimental biological physics, quantum optics and optical science, nanotechnology, particle physics as well as high energy density and laser physics. Participants are encouraged to present their research at regional and national conferences.
Women, members of underrepresented minorities and students from colleges that lack comparable research opportunities are encouraged to apply. Most applicants will have completed 4 semesters of college physics and math.
All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Please visit the website www.pas.rochester.edu/undergraduate/reu/index.html for links to previous research projects and the online application form. Please email a copy of your transcript (unofficial is fine) and also arrange for two letters of recommendation to be emailed directly to the program coordinator: firstname.lastname@example.org
